Swellendam Music and Poetry – February 2015
On the 14th of February 2015, Pro-found, Nazlee Arbee and I drove from Cape Town to Swellendam, for a music and poetry event with a unique touch. It was certainly a long drive, but fun all the way. As it turns out, Nazlee and Pro-found are not such bad people to be stuck in a car with for close to six hours.
We did not know what to expect from Swellendam, we hardly even knew what it looked like; and now we do. It looks like a small colonial town with a museum that is built on both sides of the road; now that was interesting.
This is where we almost drove off to the wrong place. It’s Swellendam… Swellendam, not Swellendam Robertson. Repeat after me “Swe-leh-ndaam”
Apparently the area has been lacking in cultural events, and so this event was started as a way of filling that void…
